Thanks to our Mural Panel

Here’s our rather ugly wall (at the moment) with our beautiful Mural Panel members standing in front. We’ve made quite a bit of progress over recent months on the Whitechapel Stories (Sidney Street) mural project. Having crafted the brief and put a call-out to the mural painting world, we received ten proposals.

We were incredibly impressed with the high quality of interesting ideas, and the thought the artists had given to the project. Thank you, mural artists, we really appreciate it. Unfortunately, we only have one wall to muralise (yes, that seems to be a word) and so our Mural Panel had the tricky task of whittling ten proposals down to one.

Thanks to our Mural Panel members (left to right): Loraine Myers, Paul Cullen, Richard Martin, Vernon Hunte, Mohammed Nazrul, Rosie Cann, Renata Rubnikowicz, Jane Austin and Genova Messiah – and (not shown) Raju Vaidyanathan and Shahed Saleem.

In later blog posts we’ll share interviews with a few Mural Panel members about the experience.
